How Decorative Aggregates and Rockery Can Transform Your Space

Decorative aggregates and rockery are popular landscaping materials that can transform your outdoor space. These materials are perfect for creating a low-maintenance garden that requires minimal upkeep while still looking great all year round. They come in a wide range of colours, textures, and sizes, making it easy to find something that suits your taste and complements the existing features of your garden.

One of the biggest advantages of using decorative aggregates and rockery is that they are incredibly versatile. They can be used to create a variety of garden features, including paths, driveways, borders, and water features. They can also be used to create stunning rock gardens and terraced landscapes that add depth and interest to your outdoor space.

Another advantage of decorative aggregates and rockery is that they are highly durable and require minimal maintenance. Unlike natural grass, which requires regular watering, mowing, and fertilizing, decorative aggregates and rockery can survive with minimal care. They are also resistant to erosion, which makes them ideal for creating garden features in areas with steep slopes.

Aquatic Projects

A beautiful feature fish pond created by our long standing customer Owens Aquatics, for a client of theirs in North Shropshire.

This pond features a lovey waterfall at one end and a babbling stone at the other, perfect to add interesting elements to a superb design. The sound of moving water really does set a relaxing tone, adding that something else to an otherwise ordinary space. This lovely pond incorporates stunning materials such as Scottish Cobbles & Pebbles, along with Moorland Slate Rockery Stone for the waterfall, and a larger drilled Glacial boulder for the babbling stone.

The result is fabulous!

Creating Dream Spaces

We worked with our client to make their bold design become a reality. Here, the use of three very different types of stone used together have created a striking feature of hard landscaping. Lovely Gold Shingle 20mm, which also makes for an attractive and durable surface for drives and paths, set against a backdrop of large rugged retaining Limestone Rocks, topped off with elegant Blue Slate 40mm, creating a marked contrast to the brick boundary walls beyond. Creative thinking along with wonderful materials from Powys & Marches Stone Ltd really can transform any outdoor space!

Durability and Style

Blue Slate 20mm creates a simple yet elegant and durable surface for this sweeping path which is edged with copper slate paving cut to size. These two materials work beautifully together in this situation. The Blue Slate 20mm although decorative, makes for a very practical choice for the path surface as it lies flat and is not inclined to move when walked upon. The Copper Slate Paving cut to size is also a very good choice for the edging, for it not only prevents the Slate chippings spilling onto the lawn but also enables the gardner to run the wheel of the mower along a flat surface. Beautiful natural Slate is highly durable and makes an attractive feature of the path to the rear of this clients property.
